Seriously...
I'm struggling through looking at vocab stuff...
"The armoured car speedily retired over the bridge."
definition - redid the tires, put new tires on
"He was bitten by remorse. The lust of battle died in him..."
definition - relief, happiness
FRICK!
Directions: identify what kind of clue was given (synonym, antonym, example, explanation) AND words from the story...
multiple students - no identification of what kind of clue, or putting "synonym" for each one and creating a synonym that they think fits; or using the dang vocab word as their clue...
Seriously, this is our fourth try on learning how to use context clues to figure out words and it's not getting any better. I must be a shitty teacher...oh, let me spell it "shetty" so it's not swearing...
